Embossed, not printed
The damask is raised into the velvet by the jacquard process. Run a hand across it and you feel the pattern stand above the pile.
Luxury Bedding sells the Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen Jacquard Embossed Collection across the UK: a velvet duvet cover set in charcoal and silver damask, the pattern raised into the fabric itself so it keeps its depth and shimmer wash after wash.
One collection, three pieces, three sizes, one designer's hand. Tell us about your room and we will tell you plainly whether it is the right set for it.
The damask is raised into the velvet by the jacquard process. Run a hand across it and you feel the pattern stand above the pile.
A printed pattern sits on the surface and wears off. An embossed one is structural, so it keeps its depth and shimmer through years of washing.
A licensed Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen damask from his home collection: elegance, pattern, and a deliberate love of a little decadence.
This season's two-tone: a deep charcoal ground under shimmering silver motifs, restrained glamour for classic and modern rooms alike.
Double, King and Super King, with every cover and pillowcase dimension published on the product page.
Where a figure is not published, the page says so instead of guessing at one. Ask us and we will go and find out.

The Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen Jacquard Embossed Duvet Cover Set in charcoal and silver velvet, in Double, King and Super King, with every dimension published.
Three pieces, one damask, so the whole bed reads as a single designed object.
The centrepiece, carrying the embossed damask at its largest scale, dressing the insert you already own.
A matching pair at 76 by 48 cm, the same embossed velvet at the head of the bed.
Soft, warm and tactile: bedding that feels as indulgent as it looks, from the first night.
The raised damask catches light across the room: deep and dramatic at a distance, sumptuously soft up close.
Cover and pillowcases carry the same damask, which is what makes the finished bed read as one designed object.
No mixing and matching: cover and pillowcases arrive together, fully co-ordinated straight out of the packaging.
The convergence of premium materials, exceptional construction and a considered design. Here that means jacquard embossed velvet, with the damask raised into the fabric structure, and a licensed design by one of Britain's most recognised interior designers.
Embossed. The damask is raised into the velvet by the jacquard process, not printed on the surface, so it cannot crack, fade or peel and the raised motifs catch light in a way a print cannot.

Double (200 x 200 cm cover, for a 135 x 190 cm mattress), King (230 x 220 cm, for 150 x 200 cm) and Super King (260 x 220 cm, for 180 x 200 cm). Every size includes two matching pillowcases.
Yes, two ways. The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you 14 days from delivery to cancel for any reason, and our own policy extends that to 30 days on an unused, unwashed set in its original packaging with all three pieces.
Machine wash on a cool, gentle cycle at 30 degrees, never hot. Air dry or tumble on the lowest setting, and steam from a distance rather than ironing the pile directly.
This is the short version of what we have learned selling embossed bedding: what jacquard embossing actually is, who the designer is, how to pick the size, and how to look after velvet. The full guide lives on the product page.
This is the single most useful thing to know in this category, and a lot of shops are comfortable leaving it unsaid. A printed pattern sits on top of the fabric and fades, cracks or peels as the surface wears. A jacquard-woven pattern is created on the loom, in the structure of the cloth itself, so there is nothing to wear off. The test takes two seconds: turn the fabric over. A woven pattern shows on the back, reversed. A printed one leaves a plain ground.
Jacquard is the weaving technique, named for Joseph Marie Jacquard, whose 1804 loom made complex patterns commercially viable. Applied to velvet as embossing, it raises the damask above the pile: the motifs catch light differently from the ground, deep and dramatic across the room, soft and tactile up close. That raised structure is the whole character of this set, and it is why the pattern cannot wear off the way a print does.
Match the set to the mattress. Double fits a 135 by 190 cm mattress, King fits 150 by 200, and Super King fits 180 by 200. When in doubt, size up: the generous overhang is what makes a designed bed read as designed.
Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen is one of Britain's most recognised interior designers, known for exuberant pattern and the belief that a home should be a stage for personality and beauty. This is a licensed design from his soft-furnishings collection: the damask went through a designer's process, not a branding exercise, and the fabric was chosen to do it justice.
A cool, gentle machine cycle at 30 degrees, never hot. No high-heat tumble: air dry or use the lowest setting, which protects the pile and the embossed texture. Never iron directly on the velvet; steam from a distance if a crease needs persuading. Cared for like this, the embossed jacquard holds its pattern and pile through years of washing.
Breathable cotton or linen bags rather than plastic, folded loosely rather than compressed, in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Cedar blocks or lavender sachets are the traditional moth deterrent, and they work.
